Start by printing the exercises & writing in the counting (click here to go to an easy to print page) When you finish, click here to see the correct counting Then practice saying the counting while you set up the beat. Click the play bar below the example to hear that line played (there is a measure of clicks to set the beat before the example begins). Try setting up the beat & saying the counting while listening to the MIDI example (the flute is playing a concert Bb) When you get comfortable, put on a recording in the same time signature & try setting up the beat & saying the counting while listening to the music - stay with beat one!
