Summer Arts Camps

There are MANY summer music camps and arts camps all over the country as well as here in New England. There are day camps around the Boston area and overnight camps that last for one week, three weeks, four weeks, six weeks or eight weeks! Some are REALLY competitive and others more laid back. Some include young children, some are for serious, advanced musicians who are college age and older and some are for adults.
--Most of the text here is taken from the organization's website & is not my specific recommendation.

For ADULTS??

Yes, there are music camps for you too!!!  No matter what your level (yes, even beginners!).  Many are listed here: New England Adult Music Camp, Apple Hill (NH), Summer Keys (ME), various New Horizons sponsored camps

Hmmm...Thinking it would be fun to get back into your instrument after decades of not playing, or would like to START an instrument?  Check out the New Horizons program - we have one in the Wayland area (Sudbury Valley New Horizons Band) and there are over 150 all over the world! It is never too late!

Links checked on 08/24/08 - I don't check the links or programs regularly; if a program is no longer running, I'd appreciate knowing! Thanks.

Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory, a festival which takes place in Steamboat Springs, CO from mid-June through early August, is selective, but it's unique atmosphere is not highly competetive. We have violin, viola, cello, and harp students ranging from age 10-22 in the three divisions. In addition to chamber music, private lessons, and individual practice, which form the core curriculum, there is also opportunity to take interdisciplinary classes such as Tae Kwon Do and photography, and numerous outdoor activities.
