Honors Wind Ensemble

The Wayland Middle School Wind Ensemble is an invitational honors group made up of members from Symphonic Band (and occasionally from Concert Band when players are needed to fill out the parts and qualified players are available). Students are chosen for the wind ensemble because they have demonstrated independence in their playing, responsibility and a high quality of achievement in band. The group meets before school once every other week (more or less) and will perform one or two higher level pieces at the spring concert. If you did not get an invitation and you think you should have, see me - I might have skipped your name accidently!

2009-2010 WMS Wind Ensemble Rehearsals

All rehearsals are Tuesday mornings before school. Rehearsal begins at 6:55, so students should be at school by 6:45 for set-up and warm up.
Remember the rule... If you are on time, you are late!

(Be early because you need time for warm-up.)

  • April 6 April 27 SPRING CONCERT, THURSDAY, APRIL 29 (We do not play at Band Fest)
  • MONDAY, May 3, 7:15 AM - we will listen to the concert recording - optional attendance, but this is our last meeting together.

Put these times in your planner & on your home calendar so that you see them each week and remember to plan for the rehearsals. Practice hard and if you need help, let me know or take the music to your private teacher.
