Soundfiles for your practicing
Novice band
- Largo and Finale - this is an old arrangement of two themes from the symphony, and there is no demo file - Listen to the whole symphony, too. It is WONDERFUL! "New World" Symphony #9 by Antonin Dvorak. The largo is the 2nd movement and the Finale is the 4th movement (Allegro con fuoco)
- I can't get a link for Peasant Village Dance, so go to JWPepper.com and search for the piece - there is a streaming sound file there. YouTube link to a Bulgarian Dance showing dancing to music with the uneven pulse.
- See below for those you are playing with the Intermediates
Combined piece - everyone
- F - we will do this as a combined piece with everyone. A great march!
Intermediate
- WaltzingFeline Fun!
- Wheatland - A great hoedown! This is an old arrangement and there is no demo. I don't have a recording that I can easily digitalize - sorry
- LFB - Spanish March. This, too, is an old arrangement and there is no demo. I did find a YouTube performance (these performances are usually illegal...) He doesn't do it the way I do, but it is a solid performance (except the 16th notes rush!) Here is a slower version if you want to work on it and the other is too fast to play along with. (this version is short on dynamics and has a lot of wrong notes and they, too, rush the 16th notes!)
- AC - an exciting piece! Don't be put off by the 5/4 - it isn't as bad as it seems!
- FotG - this is a standard band piece, rearranged to be slightly easier than the original, taken from ideas in Norse mythology. (this link is now OUR version)
- West Side Story - We don't own the demo, so again, this is a link to the publisher's website.
